My love of cairns stretches back over 15 years, when I encountered my first cairn on the Crawford Path. This passion for these quintessential White Mountains rockpiles has made its way into my original watercolors.
Each painting is created with Daniel Smith PrimaTek Watercolors, which generate gorgeous granulation and produce a magical sense of movement. Every cairn I paint is a unique representation of the trail markers that guide hikers along the White Mountains of New Hampshire.
Cairns are a powerful reminder of our ability both stay grounded and find wonderful moments of adventure.
